Who can take part

  • You are over 18 and have a kidney transplant
  • You have a kidney infection with fever (at least 38°C) plus urine signs of infection, and your urine culture grows bacteria that match the antibiotic plan
  • There is no other confirmed or suspected fever-causing infection besides the urine infection
  • Your early response to the first antibiotic is improving within 48–60 hours (fever goes below 38°C and urine symptoms improve)
  • Imaging (scan) before treatment shows no blockage and no abscess
  • You can sign consent and follow the study rules
