Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You have active ulcerative colitis or chronic diarrhea (at least 3 loose stools per day for over 4 weeks, with episodes repeating).
  • Your stool test shows high inflammation (faecal calprotectin above 150).
  • You do not have diarrhea caused by certain infections or other bowel diseases like Crohn's disease.
  • You have not had colon removal or major bowel surgery, and you are not allergic to the study drugs.
  • You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or using certain other medications during the trial.
