Who can take part

  • You are a man between 50 and 80 years old.
  • Your prostate is enlarged, between 50 and 180 mL in size, based on an ultrasound.
  • You have bothersome urinary symptoms with a score of at least 12 on a standard questionnaire.
  • Your urine flow is slow, with a maximum flow rate of 15 mL/sec or less.
  • You have not had prior surgery on your prostate or lower urinary tract, and no history of prostate or bladder cancer.
  • You are able to attend study visits and follow instructions, and you are not currently taking blood thinners that cannot be paused (except low-dose aspirin).
