Who can take part
- You have a diagnosis of major depressive disorder (MDD) confirmed by a structured interview.
- Your current depressive episode is moderate to severe and has lasted longer than 12 weeks.
- You will need to stop taking current antidepressant medications before starting the study (washout period).
- You have a body mass index (BMI) within a certain range.
- You have not had treatment-resistant depression during this episode, and you have not previously had treatments like electroconvulsive therapy, ketamine/esketamine, deep brain stimulation, or transcranial magnetic stimulation.
- You have not had suicidal thoughts or attempts in the past year, and you do not have a recent history of substance abuse or cannabis use.
