Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 75 years old.
- You have been diagnosed with liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma).
- Your cancer has spread into the portal vein (the main vessel bringing blood to the liver), a condition called portal vein tumor thrombus.
- You have not had any previous treatment for this cancer, such as surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, or immunotherapy.
- Your liver is still working reasonably well (Child-Pugh score of 7 or less).
- You are not eligible for curative surgery or transplant, but you can receive radiation therapy.
- You are able to perform daily activities with minimal help (ECOG score 0 or 1).
- You have no active hepatitis B or C, and no history of radiation to the belly or pelvis.
- For women who can become pregnant, you agree to use effective birth control during the study.
