Who can take part
- You have been diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma (the most common type of liver cancer) that cannot be surgically removed right now.
- Your liver cancer has a blood clot in one of the first branches of the portal vein (the vein carrying blood to the liver), but not in the main trunk.
- You have not had any prior cancer treatment with drugs that target the whole body, such as targeted therapy, immunotherapy, or chemotherapy by vein.
- You are between the ages of 18 and 80 years old.
- Your liver function is good (Child-Pugh class A or B, score 7 or less), and your overall health is good enough to likely live at least 3 more months.
- You do not have cancer that has spread to other organs (like the lungs or bones).
