  • Planned to have surgery with general anesthesia and a breathing tube
  • Considered healthy, or with mild to moderate health conditions (ASA I–III)
  • Able to give informed consent
  • Not pregnant, not having emergency surgery
  • No recent stroke, severe neck artery narrowing, or neck surgery
  • No condition preventing safe neck pressure or sensor placement
