Ultrasound of the chest during sickle cell pain crisis

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You have sickle cell disease (type SS, SC, or S-beta-thalassemia).
  • You are going to the emergency department because of a pain crisis (vaso-occlusive crisis).
  • You agree to have the ultrasound and to sign a consent form.
  • You have health insurance (social security) in France.
  • You do not already have a diagnosis of acute chest syndrome when you arrive.
