Who can take part
- You must be 18 years or older.
- You must be starting a GLP-1 medication (like Ozempic or Wegovy) now, or have stopped it within the last 3 months.
- You must have type 2 diabetes or obesity (BMI over 30).
- Your blood sugar (HbA1c) must be stable in the last 6 months (under 9%).
- Your thyroid function (TSH) must be normal in the last 6 months.
- You must not be taking opioids, marijuana, or certain stomach medications. If you were, you must have stopped for at least 1 month before the study.
- You must not have taken antibiotics in the past 2 weeks.
- You must not have had any stomach or intestinal surgery before.
- You must not have a current or past intestinal blockage or narrowing.
- You must not be pregnant.
- You must be able to speak and understand English well enough to participate.
