Who can take part

  • You must be between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You must have type 2 diabetes.
  • You must have moderate to severe chronic kidney disease (not on dialysis).
  • Your HbA1c (average blood sugar) must be between 7% and 9%.
  • You must be on a stable diabetes treatment that includes basal insulin and up to 2 oral medications.

This study tests if the drug dorzagliatin can protect kidney function in people with type 2 diabetes who already have mild kidney damage (shown by higher protein in their urine). Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either dorzagliatin or a placebo on top of their usual diabetes medications.
