Who can take part
- You are between 12 and 70 years old.
- You are having your first stem cell transplant from a half-matched donor (haploidentical) to treat a blood cancer.
- You have received or will receive a standard high-dose chemotherapy conditioning regimen before the transplant.
- Your general health status is good enough (ECOG score of 2 or less) before the transplant.
- You have given written consent to participate.
- You are not currently taking certain strong stomach acid reducers (PPIs) for conditions like severe reflux or ulcers, and are not on long-term blood thinners.
- You do not have an active H. pylori infection, active gut infection, or C. diff infection.
- You have not used strong antibiotics in the last 7 days or probiotics in the last 14 days.
- You are able to provide saliva and stool samples for the study.
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and do not have severe psychiatric or neurological conditions.
