Who can take part

  • You are at least 65 years old and had a heart attack at least a year ago.
  • You have heart disease or peripheral artery disease (blocked arteries).
  • You have not had a major bleeding problem or an allergy to aspirin or clopidogrel.
  • Your kidneys and liver work well enough (no severe kidney or liver disease).
  • You are not taking certain other blood thinners or other trial medicines that can interfere.
