Who can take part

  • You are at least 19 years old.
  • You have atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeat) that requires a blood thinner, and you have a higher risk of stroke (score of 2 or more on the CHA2DS2-VASc scale).
  • You also have coronary artery disease. This can be a history of a heart procedure like a stent (PCI) or bypass surgery, or a narrowing of at least 50% in a major heart artery.
  • You must not have severe kidney problems (dialysisor very low kidney function) or active major bleeding.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • You can give informed consent to participate.
