Thyroid function and liver scarring in fatty liver disease
Part of Digestive system, Hormones & metabolism clinical trials.
This study looks at whether having an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism) makes liver scarring worse in people with fatty liver disease. It uses simple blood tests and ultrasound to measure fibrosis without needing a biopsy.

This study looks at whether having an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism) is linked to more severe liver scarring in people with fatty liver disease (MASLD). You may be asked to participate if you have fatty liver and either have hypothyroidism or a normal thyroid, to help doctors understand how these conditions are connected.
This study is looking for new ways to detect liver scarring (fibrosis) in people with fatty liver disease (NAFLD, NASH, MASLD, or MASH). If you qualify, you will give a blood sample to help identify biomarkers that could replace biopsies.
This study looks at whether simple blood tests can help predict liver scarring (fibrosis) in people with fatty liver disease. If you join, you'll have a quick, non-invasive scan of your liver to check for fat and scarring.
This trial tests new medicines for adults with fatty liver disease (MASLD) that has already caused some liver scarring. It aims to see if these drugs can help prevent the liver disease from getting worse.
This study uses routine blood tests to find people with advanced liver scarring caused by a condition called MASLD. If you are between 50 and 75, have certain metabolic risks, and get blood work from your primary care doctor at select centers, you may be eligible.
This trial tests whether thyroid hormone can improve nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (fatty liver with inflammation) in Veterans. You may be asked to have a medically needed liver biopsy, and the study also focuses on safety in people with related conditions like diabetes and heart risks.
