Closing the sac around the heart to protect right heart function after surgery

Effect of Pericardial Closure on the Right Ventricular Function Post Cardiac SurgeryOpen Heart Surgery

Part of Heart & circulation clinical trials.

This study tests whether closing the sac around the heart (pericardium) after heart surgery helps the right side of the heart recover better. It may reduce the risk of temporary right heart weakness after procedures like valve replacement or bypass surgery.

Pericardiotomy in heart surgery

This trial tests whether opening the sac around the heart (pericardiotomy) during certain heart surgeries can help prevent future heart rhythm problems. It may be an option for people having surgery on the main artery from the heart, heart valves, or heart arteries.

NCT06728826Recruiting
Preventing atrial fibrillation after heart surgery with pericardiotomy

This study tests if opening the sac around the heart (pericardiotomy) can lower the chance of developing an irregular heartbeat called atrial fibrillation after heart surgery. It is for people having surgery on the heart's valves, major blood vessels, or arteries.

Closing a heart tube to improve heart function

This trial tests a procedure that closes a small heart tube (called the ductus arteriosus) that stays open after birth. The goal is to see if closing it helps the heart work better in teens and adults.

Heart pump function check after heart surgery

This study tests a new way to measure how well the right side of the heart pumps blood while you are lying in different positions after heart surgery. It may help doctors assess your recovery more easily.

Catheter closure of ventricular septal defects

This study gathers information on a procedure to close a specific type of heart hole using a device inserted through a catheter. It aims to evaluate how well this procedure works in different medical centers.

Right heart function after mitral valve surgery

This study looks at how well the right side of your heart works after mitral valve surgery, especially if you had high blood pressure in your lungs. The results may help doctors understand recovery and improve care for patients like you.
