Check right heart function after mitral valve surgery

Right Ventricular Dysfunction

Part of Heart & circulation clinical trials.

This study looks at how well the right side of your heart works after mitral valve surgery. It specifically includes people who also had high pressure in the lungs around the time of surgery, and may help doctors understand recovery and follow-up care.

Who can take part

  • You had mitral valve surgery at Assiut University Heart Hospital between March 2019 and March 2022
  • At that time, you also had high blood pressure in the lungs (pulmonary hypertension)
  • You did not have mitral valve surgery with normal lung pressure
  • Your surgery was focused on the mitral valve (no other valve surgeries except possibly aortic and/or tricuspid)
  • You did not need additional procedures for other heart problems during the same surgery (like CABG for blocked heart arteries)
