Study of early-onset severe COPD in younger adults

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

Part of Infections, Lungs & breathing clinical trials.

This study looks at people who develop COPD (a long-term lung breathing problem) at a younger age and have severe airflow limitation. It may help researchers better understand COPD in early-onset patients and find ways to improve care for this group.

NCT04252781Recruiting
Study for people with new or suspected COPD risk

This study follows people who currently smoke and people who may have newly found COPD (chronic obstructive lung disease) based on breathing test results. It aims to better understand lung disease in real life and what it means for health over time.

NCT05743582Recruiting
Studying natural immunity in COPD and in healthy adults

This study looks at how the body’s “innate” (first-line) immune system works in people with COPD compared with healthy volunteers. It may help researchers understand COPD inflammation and how immune responses could be targeted in the future.

Edinburgh
NCT06275230Recruiting
Growing lung stem cells from COPD patients

This trial aims to grow lung stem cells and create mini-lungs (organoids) from the tissue of people with COPD. It may help researchers understand the disease better and develop new treatments.

NCT05466396Recruiting
Study of early COPD lung function in adults

This study looks at lung function in people with early COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) to understand what happens over time. If you meet the lung test and health requirements, you may be able to help researchers learn how to better track and manage early COPD.

Beijing, Beijing Municipality
NCT05033990Recruiting
Study of early COPD changes using breathing tests and scans

This study follows people with early COPD patterns (or no lung disease) to understand how COPD starts and progresses over time. You may have breathing tests and possibly CT scans, and some participants may join an added lung procedure (bronchoscopy).
