Study of early COPD changes using breathing tests and scans

This study follows people with early COPD patterns (or no lung disease) to understand how COPD starts and progresses over time. You may have breathing tests and possibly CT scans, and some participants may join an added lung procedure (bronchoscopy).

Who can take part

  • Age 30–55 years
  • Have either: no smoking history, or at least a 10 pack-year smoking history
  • Meet specific breathing-test results (spirometry) that place you in a study group like GOLD 0, PRISm, or GOLD 1–2
  • Have a CAAT score below 10 if you’re joining as a healthy control
  • Be able to do study visits and breathing tests (no cognitive issues preventing study tasks)
