Who can take part
- You must be 8 years or older and able to have the procedure with just local anesthesia.
- You have a type of heart hole called secundum atrial septal defect, sized between 6 and 36 mm, causing extra blood flow to the right side of the heart.
- The hole must have good tissue rims around it so the closure device can be placed safely.
- You cannot have certain other heart defects, active heart infection, or blood clots in the heart.
- You cannot have a hole that lets blood flow from right to left.
