Who can take part

  • You have a diagnosis of sickle cell disease (any genetic type).
  • You are being seen at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and can enroll in the parent research program.
  • If you join the hydroxyurea part, you are currently taking hydroxyurea and have reached the maximum tolerated dose.
  • You have stayed on that same hydroxyurea dose for at least 90 days before enrollment.
  • You (or your parent/guardian) can give written informed consent and agree to follow study rules.
