Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older
- You have proven “classic” hairy cell leukemia confirmed by recent test results (bone marrow and/or blood, not older than 6 months)
- Your leukemia cells test positive in a specific way (TRAP staining and/or certain markers like CD19 with CD25 or CD103)
- You have not had prior chemotherapy that targets leukemia (purine analogs or other chemotherapeutics); splenectomy or interferon are allowed
- You need treatment now, and your overall health is fairly good (WHO 0–2)
