Who can take part

  • Doctors suspect a serious infection (sepsis), macrophage activation syndrome, Still’s disease, or another cause of high ferritin.
  • You have abnormal ferritin-related blood test results that prompted the suspicion.
  • Your ferritin level is not normal (a normal ferritin result would likely exclude you).
  • You will likely need blood samples for the study test (glycosylated ferritin).
