Lower blood pressure to protect the brain in older adults

Who can take part

  • Age 60 to 88 years old
  • You have a memory/thinking concern and a recent MMSE score of 20 or higher (done within 6 months)
  • Your MRI (or older scan) shows moderate-to-severe brain white-matter changes
  • You have high blood pressure (top 140 or bottom 90, either treated or untreated)
  • Your doctor has ruled out certain safety issues for MRI (like metal in the body or a pacemaker)
