Who can take part

  • You are an adult (at least 18 years old).
  • You are in one of two groups: severe trauma with specific fracture care, or planned elective hip repair.
  • For severe trauma: you had serious injury with pelvic or long-bone fractures that needed surgery such as ORIF or CRPP.
  • For severe trauma: you also had either signs of major bleeding/shock or a high injury severity score (ISS ≥ 15).
  • You can consent to the study before your surgery.
  • You are not pregnant, and you are not in prison.
