Who can take part
- You have been diagnosed with severe coronary artery disease and are scheduled for coronary artery bypass surgery
- You must be 18 years of age or older
- You can understand the study and sign (or otherwise provide) informed consent
- You do not have active myocarditis (inflammation of the heart muscle)
- You do not have hypertrophic cardiomyopathy or constrictive pericarditis (specific heart lining/heart muscle problems)
- You do not have very high lung blood pressure, severe kidney problems, severe rhythm problems, and you are not pregnant
