Who can take part
- You have chronic heart muscle disease from either blocked heart arteries or other non-blocked causes
- Your heart failure is advanced (NYHA class III or IV)
- Your heart’s pumping strength is low (left ventricular ejection fraction of 35% or less)
- You are already on standard heart failure medicines, and you have an ICD (implantable defibrillator)
- You do not have certain other heart muscle/scar conditions (like restrictive or hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, amyloidosis, or an infiltrative cause)
- You have not had certain heart procedures/devices recently and do not expect major heart procedures within 6 months
