Who can take part

  • You’re 18 or older, and you can understand and sign consent
  • Your lung cancer is stage I (early stage) and is suspicious on scans—biopsy confirmation is required later
  • Your tumor is 5 cm or smaller on CT (scan measurements)
  • Your breathing test results are strong enough for treatment (FEV1 and DLCO each at least 40% of predicted)
  • You must be well enough to do the recommended procedure (Karnofsky score 70 or higher)
  • Your cancer must not have spread to lymph nodes or distant sites on required tests (PET/CT plus node/lesion biopsy if needed)
