Who can take part
- Be older than 18 years
- Be able to understand and sign consent for the study
- Be scheduled for surgery to treat a leaky mitral valve (mitral valve regurgitation)
- Have right-side valve leakage (TR) that is mild: TR 2+ or less, with ring/stiffening (annular) swelling
- Have an enlarged right valve size measurement (tricuspid diastolic diameter at least 40 mm, or 21 mm/m2)
- Not have severe right valve leakage (TR 3 or higher)
