Who can take part
- You are currently hospitalized for a main problem of worsening (decompensated) heart failure
- You can provide required blood samples and agree to follow-up visits after discharge
- Your kidneys, liver, and lungs are not in a severe stage (based on specific lab and lung breathing measures)
- You are not critically unstable (not in shock) and you are not needing a breathing tube
- Your hospital blood level of NT-proBNP is not extremely high, and you are not being admitted for transplant care
