Comparing a new drug to aspirin for blood clot prevention after knee replacement

Who can take part

  • You are planning to have a first-time, elective total knee replacement surgery on one knee.
  • You are in good health based on routine lab tests.
  • You have not had any bleeding in the last 6 months that required a hospital stay or blood transfusion.
  • You have never had a blood clot or a clotting disorder.
  • You do not have a history of bleeding problems like hemophilia or von Willebrand disease.
  • You have not received a blood thinner called enoxaparin on the day before your knee surgery.
