Who can take part
- You’re age 40 or older
- Your urinary symptoms are from prostate enlargement (BPH) and medicine hasn’t helped
- Your urinary symptoms are quite severe (IPSS score over 15) and your bother level is at least moderate
- Your urine flow is low (peak flow under 15 mL/second) or you’ve had urine retention from BPH that didn’t improve with “trial voiding” on medicine
- Your prostate is large on ultrasound (TRUS size 80 mL or more)
- Your general health for anesthesia is acceptable (ASA score 3 or less), and you can safely stop blood thinners if needed
