Who can take part

  • You have a confirmed blood cancer diagnosis called MDS (or related types like RAEB-T or chronic myelomonocytic leukemia).
  • Your tumor/blood test shows an IDH2 gene mutation called R140 or R172.
  • If you’re in the azacitidine “new” group: you have not had azacitidine or similar drugs like decitabine (these are not allowed).
  • If you’re in the “after treatment” group: your disease must have come back or not responded after prior hypomethylating therapy.
  • You must be able to do daily activities reasonably well (ECOG 0–2) and be able to sign consent and follow study rules.
  • Your organs and health tests (liver, kidney, blood chemistry) must be within allowed limits, and you must not have certain serious infections or heart rhythm problems.
