Adding an acetazolamide-type drug to lung cancer radiation and drugs

Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older
  • You have small cell lung cancer that has not spread to other organs (metastatic disease is not allowed)
  • You must be able to start a specific treatment plan: either radiation plus chemotherapy with platinum and etoposide, or (for extensive disease) specific chemo-immunotherapy cycles
  • Your health status is fairly good (performance status 0 to 2)
  • Your scans show measurable tumor changes that can be followed (RECIST and/or PERCIST criteria)
  • You can safely use contraception to prevent pregnancy during the study and for 1 month after, and you can complete required pregnancy testing if you can get pregnant
