This study tests a rehabilitation approach to help people recover arm movement after an ischemic or bleeding stroke. You may be able to join if you’re currently an inpatient in the stroke neurology unit and have arm weakness but are medically stable and able to follow simple instructions.

Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 90 years old
- You have new arm weakness after a stroke, based on specific stroke exam scoring
- You can follow simple commands in English
- Your level of alertness is stable enough for testing (based on stroke exam scores)
- You are currently an inpatient on the MGH stroke neurology service
- You have no seizure disorder that is not well controlled and no reasons EEG pads can’t be used
