PET scan with a new tracer for lung cancer brain metastases

This Phase 1 study tests whether a specialized PET scan tracer can “light up” metastatic non-small cell lung cancer in the brain. If you join, you’ll get brain MRI and PET/CT scans and you’ll continue with your planned cancer treatments and follow-up imaging.

Who can take part

  • Be age 18 or older
  • Have biopsy-confirmed non-small cell lung cancer that has spread to the brain
  • Have an expected survival of at least 3 months (as judged by your treating doctor)
  • Have tumor tissue available from a biopsy or surgery (archival tissue is acceptable)
  • Be able to complete scans—stay still for about 30–60 minutes per scan, and meet scan weight limits (up to 350 lbs)
  • Be able to do MRI and PET/CT soon after enrollment (both within 21 days) and have adequate kidney function for the study testing (GFR 60 or higher)
