Who can take part

  • You have a chronic, fully blocked heart artery (CTO) in your body’s own coronary artery
  • Heart scan shows reduced blood flow (ischemia) in the area fed by the CTO
  • You are 18 years old or older and can sign consent and attend follow-ups
  • The CTO target artery is large enough to potentially treat (at least 2.5 mm)
  • You can safely take “dual anti-platelet” medicines if you are assigned to treatment
  • You are not currently pregnant and do not have major kidney or lung limits
