Who can take part

  • You are between 30 and 70 years old.
  • You have one of these: confirmed NASH on a liver test, or prediabetes/type 2 diabetes, with blood sugar not too high (A1c under 9%).
  • Your BMI is between 35 and 60.
  • Scans show liver fat on a baseline MRI, and you can safely get a liver biopsy.
  • You can speak English and agree to follow the study schedule and complete a short “run-in” period.
  • You have health insurance that won’t block obesity-related treatment or help manage surgery complications.
