EmboTrap device for large stroke blockages

Who can take part

  • You must be able to give consent (or a legal process for consent must be completed).
  • Your scan must show a large artery blockage in specific brain blood vessel locations (front or back, near the start).
  • Your brain scan score (ASPECTS) must be 6 or higher.
  • Your scans must show either a mismatch pattern or good natural blood flow “collaterals” (on MR, multi-phase CTA, or CT perfusion).
  • The procedure to access the groin (groin puncture) must happen within 12 hours of when symptoms started.
  • This clot-removal device must be used as the first or second treatment option.
