Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older and currently pregnant
- Your pregnancy fits one risk group: prior unexplained stillbirth after 20 weeks, major heart defect, hydrops, gastroschisis, or a monochorionic twin pregnancy
- You can read, speak, and sign consent in English
- You can sit/recline comfortably for 1–3 hours (with breaks if needed)
- You’re willing to do all study heart tests: fetal magnetocardiogram (fMCG) at set weeks and a newborn ECG after delivery (unless medically unsafe)
- You agree the research team can review your and your baby’s pregnancy, delivery, and baby records to confirm the diagnosis
