Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 60 years old.
  • You have had focal (partial) epilepsy for at least 2 years.
  • Doctors have already planned that you may need surgery to remove the seizure-start area, either now or after more brain monitoring.
  • Your routine scalp EEG should show clear abnormal seizure-signs within the last 2 years (at least 5 abnormal findings in a 20-minute recording).
  • You can get an MRI and MEG (no MRI/MEG safety problems like certain metal implants or other contraindications).
  • If you could become pregnant, you must have a negative urine pregnancy test at the first visit.
