Swiss Severe Asthma Register for adults and children

This study set up a long-term asthma registry to better understand people with severe asthma and what treatments they use. If you fit the asthma severity requirements, you may be asked for consent and basic health information so the team can follow your asthma over time.

Who can take part

  • You have a doctor-confirmed diagnosis of asthma
  • You must be able to give informed consent (or a parent/guardian can for children)
  • You have severe or difficult asthma that still causes poor control despite guideline treatments
  • If you have been on high-dose inhaled steroids or oral (systemic) steroids, your asthma is still uncontrolled or worsens when treatment is reduced
  • People with very limited life expectancy (under 6 months) are not eligible
  • You must understand the study language well enough to participate
