Who can take part

  • You’re over 18 and your STEMI heart attack started within the last 6 hours
  • Your symptoms lasted at least 20 minutes and your ECG confirmed STEMI
  • You can understand the consent form and sign it, and you can attend all visits/tests
  • When you get your stent during the procedure, it must be a metal drug-eluting stent
  • You agree to have a heart MRI shortly after discharge (3–7 days) and again at 6 months
  • You should have primary PCI (a stent procedure) done—this study is not for people who don’t get it
