Test medicine ALLO for depression after mild brain injury

This Phase 2 study tests allopregnanolone (ALLO) to see if it can improve moderate-to-severe depression symptoms in people with a history of mild traumatic brain injury from military service. You may be screened to make sure your depression is “major depressive disorder” and that other conditions and medication factors won’t interfere.

Who can take part

  • Ages 21 to 62, any sex and any background
  • History of mild traumatic brain injury since 2001, from U.S. military service after 9/11/01
  • Depression that meets DSM-5 criteria for major depressive disorder and moderate severity (HAM-D score 14–18)
  • Current pain score is at least 4 out of 10, and the pain is musculoskeletal (muscle/joint type pain)
  • You can stay on the same psychiatric medicines and therapy for 14 days (no changes 2 weeks before starting either)
