Who can take part

  • You have AML, acute biphenotypic leukemia, or high-risk MDS (high blast count in bone marrow)
  • Your age fits the group: 18–65 if newly diagnosed, or 18+ if your disease has relapsed or not responded
  • If newly diagnosed with AML/MDS: you have not had chemotherapy before (some limited exceptions like certain short-term medicines are allowed)
  • Your heart function test looks good: left ventricular ejection fraction is at least 50%
  • Your blood and organ labs are within limits (kidney, liver, and certain electrolytes like potassium and magnesium)
  • You can swallow and take pills, and you can sign consent
