Short vs long antibiotic treatment for mild leptospirosis

Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must be being seen in one of the participating hospital centers
  • Leptospirosis must be suspected and confirmed by quick blood test or PCR within 72 hours after starting antibiotics
  • You must be able to join follow-up visits or check-ins at 7 days and 21 days after starting antibiotics
  • You must sign a consent form
  • You must not have features of severe illness (like breathing failure, kidney failure, very low blood pressure needing medicines, or stroke/meningitis)
