Exosome treatment for multi-organ failure after aortic dissection surgery

Who can take part

  • You had an emergency operation for acute type A aortic dissection with ascending aorta replacement and a triple-branch stent graft
  • You are over 60 years old
  • Before surgery, your breathing test was fairly good (PaO2/FiO2 is at least 400) and certain blood counts/liver markers were above set limits
  • Before surgery, you had no dangerous low blood pressure that required medication and your brain function score was normal (Glasgow Coma Scale 15)
  • If you are in the “multi-organ failure” group, you must have at least 2 failing organs and a SOFA score of 10 or higher
  • You are not likely to qualify if you have life-threatening illness expected to last under 4 days, long-term steroid use in the past 6 months, visible blood-vessel involvement in the belly organs on CT scan, or severe pre-existing major organ disease
