Who can take part

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Have metastatic non-small cell lung cancer that has tested positive for an EGFR activating mutation (from a tumor biopsy, fluid sample, or blood test)
  • Start of osimertinib: either you have not taken an EGFR-targeting pill before, or if you took osimertinib recently (within about 3 weeks) it must be before any other chemotherapy for metastatic disease (adjuvant chemo >6 months ago is allowed)
  • Have at least one measurable tumor spot on scans that was not previously treated with radiation
  • Be able to take swallowed pills, and have a heart/lung status the study team considers safe (Karnofsky performance score at least 70%)
