Who can take part
- You must be age 18 or older and able to sign informed consent.
- Your lung cancer should be advanced or spread, and not respond to surgery or radiation.
- Your tumor must have an EGFR “sensitizing” mutation (and you may also have a resistance mutation T790M), and you must not have had an EGFR-targeted pill before.
- Your general health should be fairly strong (ECOG score 0–1, and not worse in the last 2 weeks).
- Your blood counts and key organ tests (liver, kidney, bone marrow) must be within allowed ranges, checked within 28 days before starting.
- You must be able to take the study medicine by mouth and have at least one measurable cancer spot on a CT or MRI scan.
