Who can take part
- You’re age 50 or older.
- You have a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s dementia, or mixed Alzheimer’s dementia (Alzheimer’s plus another type).
- Your thinking test score (MMSE) is between 4 and 28.
- You have agitation/aggression symptoms that score above 3 on the NPI (a behavior checklist).
- A family/caregiver must live with you or spend at least 4 hours per day with you, and both you and your caregiver can speak and read English well enough for consent.
- If you take donepezil, rivastigmine, galantamine, or memantine, your dose has been stable for at least 30 days (or you stopped it at least 15 days ago).
