Who can take part

  • You are age 55 or older (and if you are female, you’re post-menopausal)
  • A clinician has diagnosed you with dementia due to Alzheimer’s disease (or a mix of causes including Alzheimer’s)
  • Your memory/thinking test score (sMMSE) is 24 or lower
  • You currently have agitation that is considered clinically significant
  • If you take dementia brain medications like donepezil, rivastigmine, galantamine, or memantine, your dose must be stable for 3 months
  • A primary caregiver must join study visits and be able to do the study questions in English
